In today’s economy, finding anything for under a dollar is a rarity. However, for National Cheeseburger Day this Monday, McDonald’s is offering nostalgia-inducing prices – double cheeseburgers for just 50 cents apiece when ordered through their app (limit one per customer).
It’s a throwback to 1948 when the original McDonald’s hamburger was only 5 cents more. Nowadays, a basic McDonald’s cheeseburger ranges from $1 to $2.79, making this promotion especially appealing.
McDonald’s isn’t the only fast food chain honoring National Cheeseburger Day with deals. Wendy’s is selling junior bacon cheeseburgers for 1 cent through September 22nd with any other purchase.
Burger King also has to acknowledge the holiday to avoid losing their crown. Members of their Royal Perks program can get a free cheeseburger with a $1 minimum purchase.
