Taylor Swift’s fans encountered frustration Tuesday amidst a virtual Easter egg hunt revealing track titles for her upcoming “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” album.
Swift announced the 1989 re-recording last month, noting it would contain unreleased “vault” songs as an extra reward for supporters purchasing and streaming.
Google said its search function would display 89 puzzles for fans to solve, gradually unveiling the new song names. The initial puzzle displayed a jumbled version of the album name, with more puzzles emerging as participants entered answers.
However, many fans, along with media outlets, reported technical issues stalling progress after the first puzzle despite searching for solutions. The virtual hunt intended to excite and engage Swift’s eager followers instead left many puzzled over glitches blocking the next steps.
